Hobbies abound

I was dating someone a few weeks ago and now we're not dating anymore, so I have more free time than usual. And, I've gone a little crazy with the hobbies.

Hobby #1
Guitar- I bought a guitar and I've been teaching myself how to play. It hasn't been too hard yet, since I read music very well, understand theory, and know how to practice. I'm going to take a group class at a shop down the street from where I live to get me going (but it starts in a month). So far, I can play a G major scale, several chords, and 'Yesterday' by the Beatles.

Hobby #2
Yoga- I don't know if this really counts as a hobby since it's just exercise and I should be doing it no matter what, but the gym at work has some good yoga instructors. I've always liked yoga and I feel so much more energetic when I exercise. I went to a power yoga class that just started up this past week, so only 3 people came. But, it was the best! The teacher was able to give us all individualized instruction, which made me work harder and I was so sore the next day. Bring it on.

Hobby #3
Glass blowing- I friend on mine took a glass blowing class and loved it. Her teacher is taking more students, so I signed up for a 4 week course. It's a small class of about 4 people, but we make something at each class (vase, pumpkin, flower, etc.) It hasn't started yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

Hobby #4
Ballroom Dance- I haven't been to class in awhile, but since it's a pay-when-you-come thing, I just go when I can. Eventually, I want to get a more permanent partner and go more frequently.

Just in case you're worried that I'm trying to do too much, I do take breaks when I need to. My roommate just got a Wii for her birthday. We spent all Saturday afternoon playing games. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. We both stood on this pad on the floor and had to run and jump over obstacles on the screen. I spent a little too much time creating my 'Mii' (my character on Wii). My favorite game was Outdoor Adventure and the jump rope, where the game would make a 'splat' sound if you didn't jump in time, and showed your Mii land flat on her face. So funny.

You are SOOOOO cool! Glass blowing, guitar and yoga?!!? Oh, and ballroom (your passion, I know!). You are one well-rounded, cool, talented chick! And having some laughs with the WII. Sounds like you are just keeping yourself on a progressive track, living a full life. I think you rock! Love you! Miss you!

Have you checked out Etsy.com yet? You could sell your blown glass creations on there if they're unique enough! I sell there at www.stellapearl.etsy.com

This is so much healthier than my reaction to a breakup!
