I'm so bummed or pissed, can't decide

A friend of mine came up to me at church on Sunday and we had the following conversation:

Friend: Hey, are you going on the big ski trip?
Me: Huh? What do you mean?
Friend: You know, the president's day trip. Everyone's going. Did you sign up?
Me: Well, I really want to go skiing, but I've never heard of it. What are the details?
Friend: Oh, well, all the cabins are full.
Me: Uh, Ok.
Friend: Didn't (insert name) tell you about it? I thought he would've told you about it.
Me: Apparently not. But, I really do want to go. I need a break. Are you sure everything's all full?
Friend: Oh yeah. It's gonna be awesome. You should've really signed up.

I hate being out of the loop, especially when everyone was invited except for me and the event was organized by really good friends of mine. I get plenty of invites from one of these friends regarding joining the family coalition or 'republicans on facebook', but seem to get bumped off the party list. I looked on the invite and over 100 people are going and they've been planning this for over a month. And of course, if I were a guy, there are still plenty of available spots. But, all the girl cabins are full. It sucks to be overlooked. Why do I still feel like I'm in grade school?

Ugh..I HATE that! I'm so sorry! It always sucks being left out. It makes me go back and wonder if I've ever done that to anyone. I sure hope not! Hang in there....assume the best!

I don't buy the excuse for a second that there's no room in the cabins. There's always room. There was room for Mary and Joseph in the Inn...there's room for Linda in the cabin. I would feel super deflated too...knowing strings weren't pulled for me! I'm sorry. This is a big let down to me. Give my comment to (insert name).

It's true, it's like single women can never leave high school. It's all about the territory and keeping the status quo. Where I am, I mostly only hang-out with young married women. (wow. that kind of sounds dirty, but not what I mean. It's just they're the only ones without an agenda)

Know that you're not alone about being ignored sometimes, and that it really has nothing to do with who YOU are.
